Kylie Minogue Joins Rihanna, Rita Ora and Solange Knowles In The Roc Nation Family

07 February 2013 by

The original princess of pop, Kylie Minogue, has bagged herself a brand new deal. In a move which has surprised some but clearly delighted others, the Aussie actress-turned-singer has partnered up with Roc Nation.

A statement on their [a target="_blank" href="">website[/a] yesterday announced, ‘Roc Nation would like to welcome Aussie singer, recording artist, songwriter, actress and designer Kylie Minogue to the family…Needless to say, we’re excited to have Kylie join the Roc fam.’

Kylie herself announced the news via her Twitter account with a photo of her blowing a kiss to the camera and wearing a Roc Nation t-shirt, the caption reading, ‘Kisses from my new home rocnation #KM2013ROC’.

For those not familiar, Roc Nation is a partnership between Live Nation and Jay-Z (Mr Carter, wife of Beyonce, best mate of Coldplay and Gwyneth etc) combining a record label with artist management. And probably some other stuff too. Kylie falls under the managed acts category joining the likes of Mark Ronson, M.I.A., Rihanna and Shakira so we might be seeing a more urban side to the petite popstar in the months to follow.

Let’s have a little look through the Roc Nation family album shall we?

Ri-Ri scored her record deal with Def Jam after auditioning for Jay-Z and signing up to his management label.

Keeping it in the family – Jay-Z is her brother-in-law afterall - Solange Knowles is managed by Roc Nation as an artist and a DJ.

We're expecting big things this year from this LA trio of sisters.

Booty shaking Columbian singer Shakira has a three album deal plus management for her next two world tours.

A guest appearance for Jay-Z at the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend and a welcome tweet from Rihanna marked the start of M.I.A.'s Roc Nation journey.

Half-German, half-American, 20 year old Arlissa lives in Crystal Palace. She's already had a collaboration with Nas on the track Hard To Love Somebody' and her debut single Sticks and Stones is out in March...

Rita Ora

Rita Ora was the first Roc Nation act to secure a number one album in the UK.

Willow Smith

Willow has been whipping her hair back and forth ever since signing to Jay-Z's label at the age of ten.
