Kristen Stewart has spoken out about her sadness at learning of James Galdolfini’s death. The Sopranos actor passed away at just 51 last week after a suspected heart attack whilst he was on holiday with his family in Italy.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Kristen said, ‘When I heard of James’ passing I was in New Orleans, where we met shooting, and every memory flooded back and gutted me. I’ll hold that time near to me forever. He was immeasurably great. My heart goes out to his beloved family.’
The young actress had previously spoken out about her experience of working with James. In 2009 she explained why she felt he liked to keep himself out of the spotlight as much as possible – a character trait which Kristen certainly emulates: ‘He has that (intense fan base). It’s so annoying. Everybody is like ‘Tonyyy! Yo, Tonnyy!’ I’m sitting there going, ‘Don’t do that … He will f***ing deck you,’ she said.
Kristen and James stared together in Welcome To The Riley’s where he played her father…
