Aww, good news for Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll (yep, we can’t say his name without having a little giggle either) who have confirmed they are expecting their first child together. A representative for the couple said, ‘I can confirm Kate Winslet is pregnant and she and Ned Rocknroll are thrilled. The baby is due at the end of the year.’
It's given us all a break from guessing Kim Kardashian's baby name, as the internet is already flooded with (mostly ridiculous) baby name suggestions. But according to The Sun, if the baby is a girl, she wil be named after Richard Branson's mum Eve, as she carried her out of the fire at Necker Island back in 2011. This was also the holiday where Kate met her father-to-be Ned Rocknroll.
This will be Kate’s third child, she already has a 12 year old daughter named Mia from her first husband director Jim Threapleton and a son named Joe who is nine by director Sam Mendes. Here’s what we know about the three fathers…
Husband Number 1: Jim Threapleton
Jim and Kate met on the set of her film Hideous Kinky in 1997 and were married by December 1998. Their daughter Mia was born two years later. However the couple split in 2001 and Kate was granted a quickie divorce on the grounds of his ‘unreasonable behaviour’. Whilst Kate never commented on exactly what was meant by this she did say that she and Jim were ‘unbelievably unhappy.’
Husband Number 2: Sam Mendes
In 2001 with her divorce from Jim still fresh Kate began dating Director Sam Mendes. They would later marry in 2003 in Anguilla, their son Joe was born in December of the same year. They later divorced in 2010, Kate said of their split, 'One thing I will say about me and Sam is that it's fine, it's really fine. We're grown-ups at the end of the day, and however hard it's been for me, it's been equally hard for him.’
Husband Number 3: Ned Rocknroll
In August 2011 when holidaying on Necker Island, the tropical paradise owned by Richard Branson Kate met his nephew, Ned – whose original surname was Abel Smith. They married in New York in December 2012 and moved over to the UK permanently.
