They’ve been together seven years and engaged since last April. They have, at the last count, 114 tousle-haired, bee-stung lipped children between them and their union helped to inspire the celebrity name-drop cut ‘n’ shut which recently reached its head-aching apogee with the terrifying, “Baby Kimye”. They are, of course, Brad and Angelina and in the last few days the needle on their Long-Awaited Nuptials Alert has been moving ever closer to the blood red quarter marked Imminent!

Along the way Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg offer a hymn to history’s most dangerously romantic couple, Prince is happy just to pretend and Nancy Sinatra bemoans a husband who complains, “the fire has gone out”. Later, Gladys Knight plays the grieving ex and The Killers name the guest who really ought to be there - but almost certainly won’t be. Finally, Martha and the Vandellas deliver a heart-squeezing Northern Soul classic for the newly married couple. “Friends say it couldn’t be done,” they sing, “but all his love I know I’ve won...” About time too - and here’s to the pair of you...
