Are These The Cheesiest Celebrity Couple Music Videos EVER?

Celebrity couples starring in music videos together – it’s a thing. A thing which Katy Perry and John Mayer embraced wholeheartedly in honour of their duet, ‘Who You Love.’ Katy and John wrote the song after getting back together earlier this year and the lyrics describe how the couple tried to fight their love for one another but eventually failed. The moral? Err, you love who you love.

The accompanying video designed to celebrate love features real life couples cast by Katy and John riding on a bucking bronco. Katy says this is a metaphor for romance, ‘Relationships are kind of like riding a bull – you hold on for dear life. Sometimes you get a little a little buck here and there, but you get back on.’

In this week’s issue of Grazia (out today) we look at some of the cheesiest couple music videos of all time. Now you can watch them, RIGHT HERE. Aren’t we good to you?

1. Katy Perry and John Mayer, ‘Who You Love’

Just look at the way that Katy and John cradle each other’s faces. Anyone would think they’re in love or something. The more cynical of us might also point out that this video is a bit of a kick in the teeth for Katy’s ex-husband Russell Brand. He might have ended their marriage by but she and John totally don’t care, they’re so happy they have their own fireworks display.

2. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, ‘Bound 2’

What will North West think when she grows up and sees this video of her parents jiggling around on a motorbike, Kim’s not even wearing a top. Kanye’s video for Bound 2 is almost as good as the James Franco and Seth Rogan spoof, Bound 3, which followed. Kanye said of the video,  ‘I wanted it to look as phony as possible. I wanted the clouds to go in one direction, the mountains to go in another, the horses to go over there… I ain’t got a problem with looking stupid.’ Yeah that’s right he doesn’t have a problem with it.

3. Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, 'Especially For You'

Kylie and Jason were the ultimate original soap star couple – having started dating after working on Neighbours together. In this video they look incredibly happy to be together as a couple reunited in an audition room, in real life things got bitter when Kylie left Jason going on to date INX front man Michael Hutchence. Thankfully for TV fans everywhere they eventually made up performing together again in 2012. Yay!

4. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, 'Love Story'

One of Mariah’s lesser known songs 'Love Story' is the story of how she and Nick met. In the video they frolic at their house, in a swimming pool and take a ride on a rollercoaster. You’d expect nothing less really. Mariah and Nick got married in 2008 and this video starts with the worlds, ‘This is the love story of Nick and Mariah.’ According to their lyrics their hearts caught fire when they met, which is sweet…

5. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, 'Jenny From The Block'

Ahh Bennifer, how could we have forgotten you? Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were once one of our favourite showbiz couples as showcased in the music video for 'Jenny From The Block'. In the 2002 video they are seen frolicking together on a yacht, in a hotel room, in a car and outside a restaurant – all this despite the fact that she is still 'Jenny From The Block'. Sadly, Ben didn’t always feel as happy about this video as he looks when he’s touching JLo’s bottom - he said after their engagement ended and they split in 2004: 'If I have a big regret, it was doing the music video'. Oh.

6. Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley, 'You Are Not Alone'

There are a lot of confusing things about this 1995 video for Michael Jackson’s hit song 'You Are Not Alone'. First of all he seems to be incapable of doing up his shirt buttons and then he seems to pretty much NAKED with then wife Lisa Marie Presley – what is going on there? We’re not sure, let’s not even mention the fact that they seem to be in some sort of temple?

So which is THE cheesiest music video of them all? Let us know below...
