Greenwood Grange: 5 Reasons Why This Is The Perfect Staycation Location

Take a scroll through Instagram and there's no denying staycations are having a moment. Whether you're tightening your belt and holidaying on British soil or just want a long weekend that doesn't involve airport security, they're the perfect way to nab a relaxing break. But where to go? We tried out a brand new holiday concept in Dorset, Greenwood Grange, and here's five reasons why you should try it too...

1. Because it's oh-so peaceful

If tranquil and luxurious is what you're after, you've come to the right place. Greenwood Grange is surrounded by lush green fields perfect for a countryside wander and the marvellous Jurassic coast with its beautiful beaches is only a few miles away. There's picturesque villages, castles, gardens and houses to be explored, making it the perfect place to escape city life and unwind. Alternatively, you don't even need to leave the area as it offers plenty of spaces to simply kick back and lie in a hammock *sigh*

2. Because sometimes you just want a cosy cottage

Hotel rooms can feel so unhomely, dontcha think? So what better than ancient stone, brick and slate barns that have been transformed into beautifully designed cottages. You can opt for a cosy one bedroom cottage or a thatched cottage that sleeps twelve, depending on whether it's a group trip or romantic getaway you're after.

3. Because you can pop into Thomas Hardy’s house

The Grange is created around the farm buildings built by Thomas Hardy’s father in the nineteenth century and is just up the path from Hardy’s Cottage. Tess of the D'Urbervilles, eat yer heart out.

4. Because it's Eco-friendly

Sustainable and natural fibres, energy efficient equipment, a fruit and vegetable garden, fresh eggs from the resident hens... every little helps to keep carbon footprints to a minimum.

5. Because there's a swimming pool!

Take a dip in the indoor swimming pool (which is open twenty four hours a day, we might add), play a spot of tennis on the court or work it out in the gym - the facilities are sure to keep you busy.
