Harry Styles is into art. Who knew?
The One Direction heartthrob who was last week voted Style Icon at the British Fashion Awards is said to be a massive fan of London’s Loughran Gallery. At their last exhibition he bought a painting by Jessica Zoob, and apparently he might have his eye on a few more of her pieces on show now at Loughran’s new ONE exhibition at NEO Bankside near Tate Modern.
Launched on Wednesday, to celebrate the gallery’s first birthday, the exhibition includes many more pieces by Jessica Zoob including a 15-metre work made up of six parts. There is also a portrait of model Lara Stone by Marc Quinn which shows her lying on a bed of bloody red meat and pink roses with her face partly obscured by dripping paint. Marc Quinn was famously the man behind an 18ct gold statue of Kate Moss in a yoga pose which sold for £577,000 at Sotheby’s in 2011.
Other artists on show include Dave White, Lara Carew-Jones as well as Damiem Hirst’s Psalm Prints. The concept of the show is to offer the public the opportunity to view and purchase art in a fun and unintimidating atmosphere. No wonder Emma Willis and Reggie Yates are also said to be fans of the gallery.
Get yourself down to the exhibition, which runs until 20 December. For further information visit www.loughrangallery.co.uk.
