Ever since Zac Efron graduated from his Disney days in the High School Musical franchise and parted ways with teen sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens, we’ve noticed that he seems to have a bit of a penchant for older women. At 25 years of age, we think it is officially ‘allowed’ for us to have a crush on him now. And, it seems like these leading ladies agree…
1. Nicole Kidman – The Paperboy
You can forgive Zac Efron’s character Jack for never forgetting his first love Charlotte, particularly when she’s played by none other Nicole Kidman (then 45). Their chemistry is pretty electric and if you missed The Paperboy in the cinema, catch it on Blu-ray and DVD from 29 July.
2. Michelle Pfeiffer –New Year’s Eve
Zac had no qualms puckering up to Michelle Pfeiffer, then 53, in New Year’s Eve. In fact, it was their idea (there was no kiss in the original script) and Zac described it as ‘the best part of the movie’.
3. Leslie Mann – 17 Again
Suspend reality for a second. In 17 Again, Matthew Perry’s character Mike gets transformed into his 17-year old self (played by Zac) and the chance to live his life over. In a bid to reconnect with his soon-to-be estranged wife Scarlett - Leslie Mann, then 38 – the pair find themselves slow dancing in Scarlett’s living room. Cute. Slightly cringe. But still, cute.
4. Claire Danes – Me And Orson Welles
After catching the attention of an ambitious production assistant on the set of the play in which he plays the lead, Zac Efron’s 17-year old character spends the night with Claire Danes (then 30) before she drops him for the plays director, Orson Welles. Boo.
5. Heather Graham - At Any Price
Heather Graham makes a pretty obvious play for Zac right under the nose of his age appropriate girlfriend in At Any Price. She uses that well known tactic employed by the guys we used to admire in our younger days i.e. I can buy you booze. Awks.
