Rumour has it the latest couple to have entered splitsville are Danny Boyle and Rosario Dawson as there are reports that the couple have called it quits after just a few months of dating. If they have broken up they are in a R Patz and K Stew sitch as they have to do a marathon promo tour together. Eeek!
Perez Hilton has reported that it was all a tad awks at a Trance press junkets, as one onlooker said: 'Rosario and Danny didn’t interact during interviews. It was pretty obvious they’re no longer a couple. He [Danny] was talking to a group of people when she [Rosario] arrived and it was awkward — like a cold greeting, no hug, and they got through it as quickly as possible.' Oh the pain.
We're not sure if they have actually broken up, but they wouldn't be the first couple to work together when the romance has fizzled. The award for the most awkward red carpet-ness goes to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson who had to travel the world together to promote Twilight after the whole cheating scandal.
Grazia Daily (along with the rest of the world) studied their red carpet body language and it got us seriously squirming. At a photocall in Madrid K-Stew (dressed in a Julien Macdonald figure-flatterer) tried her best to cosy up to her leading man. But if Rob's facial expression is anything to go by, he was nothing but on-edge and avoiding eye contact with her. This carried on for the whole promo tour #majorawks.
AWKWARD! The difference a Hollywood scandal makes to red carpet body language
Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence may have split, but it isn't a simple case of returning his hoody, deleting his phone number and pretending he doesn't exist for J-Law as they have an X-Men movie to make and promote ahead of them. But Nicholas insisted it won't be awks as he said 'No, not at all. We had a great time making that first film.' Rather you than us Jen.
Dating a co-star on a long running TV show is a recipe for disaster and Gossip Girl was cursed with six seasons of awkwardness as Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley AND Leighton Meester and Sebastian Stan all broke up. We can't even imagine how weird it would be to have to marry your ex on screen. But Gwyneth Paltrow WANTED to work with her ex Ben Affleck as after their break up she apparently persuaded him to work with her on Bounce.
Gwen Stefani and bassist Tony Kanal broke up in 1994, but they are both still in No Doubt. Yes, that's decades of awkwardness. They had to perform Don't Speak (the song about their break up) on stage together night after night after night. Tony spoke up to The Guardian about working together post split as he revealed: 'We were on tour for Tragic Kingdom for 28 months. We were going through the breakup, and in every interview we were talking about it so we were opening this wound on an hourly basis. It was so brutal but I don't know how we made it through.'
