Culture Cuts: MGMT’s New Video PLUS Joaquin Phoenix's Latest Role

This week we’ve been reminiscing about the original Sugababes – Mutya Keisha Siobhan- and why their comeback will be ace. We've also been getting misty eyed over the anniversary of The O.C.

Here are the other bits of culture that you may have missed.

1) Watch The Trailer For The Spike Jonze Film

A bit of a warning before you watch the trailer for the new Spike Jonze film Her. If you’re not in tears by the end of it you’re probably a robot with a fuse box instead of a heart. Scarlett Johansson voices Samantha, a computer with whom lonely writer Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) falls in love with. The trailer is kind of heartbreaking and had us singing: “They’ll always be together, forever in electric dreams,” to ourselves

2) Watch Katy Perry Set Fire To Her Wig

She’s baaaaaaack! To prepare us for her new album Prism, Katy Perry has released a series of trailers. Our favourite is this one where she sets fire to her famous blue wig. We say: "stay tuned for an exciting reinvention (but watch out for those synthetic hair fumes)."

3)  Watch The Resurrection Trailer

Brad Pitt is producing this adaption of Jason Mott’s book The Returned, renamed Resurrection. The plot is fiendishly similar to Les Revenants but with a middle-America spin to the proceedings. Basically there's no-one in it called Camille or Lena.

4) Watch The Crazy New Video For MGMT

We’re loving the slightly nutso new video and song from MGMT, Your Life Is A Lie. It’s as wild and brilliant and you’d imagine. Featuring a singing dolphin, a crying rock and more, your head won’t be the same after watching this.

5) Watch The Trailer For Diablo Cody's New Film

We’ve loved Diablo Cody ever since Juno. Hell, we even liked Jennifer’s Body! Now we have the trailer for her directorial debut, it features the straight laced Julianne Hough trying to find her inner wild child with the help of Russell Brand and Octavia Spencer.
