Psychologists tell us that these are the questions you need to ask to truly get to know someone. We sat down with Claudia Winkleman, this year’s Sainsbury’s Beauty Awards host, to see if it works on the 41-year-old TV presenter. Here's what she told us...
1. Who are you closest to?
My husband and my children. I also have amazing friends, a group of girls who are brilliant and I’ve known them forever.
2. What’s your earliest memory?
I remember feeding a chicken with my mum and it was the first time I had ever seen one. I was terribly excited. I must have been visiting a farm or something because I grew up in London.
3. What’s your biggest fear?
Something happening to someone I love. I’m totally paranoid about my children and don’t ever want them to leave the house. I’d like to create a room covered in bubble wrap for them to stay in.
4. What is relaxation to you?
Bath and bed. I love my bed. I could talk to you about my bed until the cows come home. It’s quite high up and my kids always fall off it. I need to get a ladder.
5. What do you value in a partner?
Pure gratefulness. I like them to feel slightly nervous and jumpy around me. I like them weeping in a foetal position.
6. Tell us something that will shock us?
I don’t really believe in hairbrushes or removing my eye make-up.
7. What are you best at?
Sleeping. I could get a degree in it.
8. What’s your biggest regret?
I think I should be doing something else with my life. I think what I do it quite moronic. For a living I read out loud and dye myself orange. I would quite like to be a boffin instead.
9. What’s the most expensive item in your wardrobe?
A classic black Chanel bag which I don’t think I’ve ever used. It is too previous.
10. What item can’t you live without?
My VW Golf. It’s incredibly old and you can only climb into it through the boot, but I love it.
