Zoe Saldana Cannes 2013

Film season has officially begun with the announcement of the films that will be showing at the Cannes Film Festival, which begins on May 15th. With an array of brilliant looking pics featuring the likes of Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Zoe Saldana and Emma Watson, here are the films we can’t wait to see.

1. The Bling Ring

Sophia Coppola brings her unique cool, aesthetic sense to the tale of the privileged LA teens who raided the homes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Miranda Kerr and more in the mid-noughties, just for the fun of it. A great ensemble cast (including Emma Watson in a career changing role) and an ace soundtrack featuring Kanye West, Sleigh Bells and Frank Ocean, makes this a must see.

2. Only God Forgives

The second teaming up for Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling, finds The Gos' playing a gangster in Bangkok with Kristin Scott Thomas playing his wacky mum.

3. Inside Llewyn Davis

The 60s Greenwich Village folk scene gets the Coen Brothers treatment in the surreal duo’s first foray into a music film since O Brother Where Art Though. Carey Mulligan and Justin Timberlake star.

4. Behind The Candelabra

Steven Soderbergh gets Michael Douglas to don sequined pants and Matt Damon to wear a very funny wig, in this tale of Liberace and his much younger lover Scott Thorson. Rumours suggest that Douglas gives the performance of his life.

5. Blood Ties

Marion Cotillard Cannes 2013

With an astounding cast (Marion Cotillard, Clive Owen, Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis), Guillaume Canet directs the tale of warring brothers in Brooklyn in the 70s.
