Simon Cowell has tweeted the first photos of his son Eric. The music mogul revealed an intimate father-son portrait to his 9 million twitter followers with the caption, "I never knew how much love and pride I would feel." He also shared a snap of the wee nipper on his own and gushed, "Now you can see how very handsome little Eric is", as well as an image of himself with Eric and Eric's mummy Lauren Silverman two days after the birth.
Eric Cowell was born just-before 6pm in New York on Friday evening. The little boy's been named Eric after the X Factor judge's late father, he weighs 6lb 7oz.
'Very happy to say Eric was born at 17.45pm [EST],' tweeted Simon. 'Healthy and handsome.'
Simon skipped yesterday's BGT audition to fly out to New York to be with Lauren when she went into early labour. He's Simon's first child and apparently he's arrived two week's early.

Piers Morgan took to Twitter to congratulate his pal, sharing a snap of Simon and his father. 'A young Simon Cowell with his father Eric, who he adored,' posted Piers. 'A lovely tribute to name his son after him.'
When it was first announced last year that Simon was to become a father the news made quite a bit of a hoo haa. At the time Lauren was still married to businessman Andrew Silverman, a friend of Simon's.
However, having put all that behind them the couple have since gone from strength to strength. Earlier this week Simon spoke about his impending arrival and revealed that he will definitely not be taking care of changing duties. He said, 'I haven't changed a nappy before and I won't. I just can't do it. I'd like to be at the birth a little but far away.'
He also revealed to the Mirror that he was on stanby to fly whenever he got the call, 'I'm keeping my phone on during auditions one hundred per cent. If it happens I have to go and dash onto a plane. I probably will be nervous when it all happens. I have got a feeling my child is going to be really naughty.' Looks like he could be about to find out...
