The excitement has been building for WEEKS thanks to an endless stream of tantalising teasers but last night, Beyonce Knowles' much-anticipated Superbowl performance finally happened. Millions of viewers tuned in around the world to see the superstar singer take to the stage in New Orleans during half time at Sunday's match - and what a corker it was! We don't even care whether she was lip-synching or not. The dazzling performance featured a medley of her greatest hits, plenty of booty shaking and the return of Destiny's Child - what more do you need to prove your critics wrong? Let's relive the highlights (again and again).
1. The insane dancing
During the 14-minute set, Beyonce pulled off a super-energetic routine featuring trademark diva moves including elaborate shimmying, hair swishing and top-notch booty thrusts. Seriously, the woman is a dancing MACHINE!
2. The fierce costume
The 31-year-old looked hot to trot in a cropped black leather motorcycle jacket, plunging leather bodysuit and matching skirt teamed with fishnet tights and high heeled ankle boots. We're impressed to see Beyonce opting not for one of her designer faves - we were predicting a Mugler or Macdonald creation - but for a creation by little known New York-based designer Rubin Singer. 3. The saucy thumb lick
It's baaacck! And better than ever.
4. Bey's greatest hits
The medley included our favourite Beyonce hits including Love on Top, Crazy in Love and Single Ladies, making it impossible not to sing along.
5. The return of Destiny's Child
Michelle Williams may have denied that the band would reunite for the event, but to everyone's delight, Bey's Destiny's Child bandmates made a dramatic entrance. Both Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams flew in from under the stage. Brilliantly, DC's matchy-matchy outfits also made a return with Kelly sporting a leather Emilio Pucci leotard with stockings and boots and Michelle wearing an ultra short black miniskirt over more lashings of black leather, also by Rubin Singer.
6. Special effects
A ginormous lit-up silhouette of Beyonce's sexy shape, an abundance of fireworks, kaleidoscopic video footage - there was no expense or effect spared on this one.
7. A-list fans
The world was enthralled by the fiesty performance and that includes our favourite stars - actresses Chloe Moretz and Evan Rachel Wood as well as Kim Kardashian and our very own Cara Delevingne took to Twitter to sing Bey's praises. Michelle Obama also tuned in and told her followers, 'Watching the #SuperBowl with family & friends. @Beyonce was phenomenal! I am so proud of her! -mo'. What an accolade!
8. Behind-the-scenes snaps
The DC girls were also tweeting their excitement and we can't get enough of this backstage shot of the reunited trio. Happy to have you back, girls!
9. Family love
Aside from her sing-songing, Bey has us cooing over her adorable family too. Speaking with the NFL Network's Super Bowl Live show, the singer revealed her daughter Blue Ivy is starting to talk. She also gushed that seeing Blue's face in the morning is 'the best thing in the world. It's just such a beautiful time in my life to have a child and every day see something new and see her learn something new.' As for her hubby Jay-Z, she said, 'My husband is incredible. He's so supportive' before she was spotted running into his arms backstage. N'aww!
10. Tour news!
'I may have an announcement after the performance -- fans should just stay tuned to see,' Beyonce told us on Thursday. And the announcement was...drum roll please... The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour! Oh yes, the star is kicking off her European tour in Serbia before she visits the UK in April and May. If the Superbowl performance is anything to go by, we're in for a right treat and a royalty-inspired video for the tour suggests it'll be more majestic than ever. All hail Queen B!
