Kate Hudson and Heath Ledger in Four Feathers [Rex]
This week Kate Hudson has revealed that her best on-screen kiss was Heath Ledger in Four Feathers. The actress said to TV host Andy Cohen: "My favourite one was Heath. I would say that was he was, that was, pretty excellent. He was just so beautiful and sweet and gentle. And I look back at all of that... he was lovely." Watch their kiss here.
We're using this as the perfect excuse to look back at some of our all-time favourite on-screen smooches. Diane Keaton told Ellen DeGeneres that she is on a mission to be the number one on-screen kisser of all time: "I'm thinking that maybe 50 is what I'm going for." Her two top lip-locks so far are Michael Douglas and Morgan Freeman.
Diane said that with Morgan "You just put your lips up against him, and you just squeezed in, and it felt gooey and good. So I liked that." While she said about her And So It Goes co-star Michael Douglas: "What was exciting about him he was sort of like a pit bull. He kind of attacked me...I was acting sort of cautious, but in my heart of hearts, I felt the same about him and I wanted to just get right with it."
Leonardo DiCaprio revealed Kate Winslet was his favourite on screen kiss in Titanic (of course) "just because we did it more times than anyone could imagine. A LOT." While Russell Crowe said that his best ever kiss is currently "Cate Blanchett until further experiences."
As for Jennifer Lopez her best on screen kiss was on a movie called An Unfinished Life where she had a kiss with Josh Lucas. "We had a love scene in the back of this trunk, we just jumped on each other when they said action," she added.
But not everyone is quite so kind about their co-stars' kissing skills. Helen Mirren outed Harrison Ford as a bad kisser: "She considered him 'the nicest, sweetest guy you could want to meet. But he can't kiss - he finds it impossible to kiss on screen. He's probably not very good off screen either. It's not just me - other actresses agree. Whenever we get chatting off screen and we get around to talking, we come to the same conclusion.'"
Surprisingly James McAvoy didn't enjoy kissing Angelina Jolie: "I can tell you what it was like to kiss her on a film set: It was awkward, sweaty and not very nice." Ouch. While Thandie Newton said of Tom Cruise: "Kissing Tom Cruise was slightly icky and sort of wet. I'd really go home at the end of the day actually moaning about how hot it was and how many times we had to do it."
