As Lindsay Lohan's Film Is Rejected By SXSW Festival, We Remember 8 Critical Stages Of Her Acting Career

24 January 2013 by

How do you solve a problem like Lindsay Lohan? With great difficulty, it seems. Her latest woe is that her new film The Canyons has been rejected from South By South West film festival for reportedly being rather rubbish. This comes after it was already excluded from being screened at this month's Sundance festival.

An insider at SXSW festival, which takes place in Austin, Texas in March, said the film suffered from "significant quality issues." Ouch. It also, apparently, has "an ugliness and a deadness to it."

The movie, starring Lohan and porn star James Deen, is said to be a "contemporary L.A. noir about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition" from director Paul Schrader and writer Bret Easton Ellis. It's the latest blow for the film - and Lindsay. Earlier this month The New York Times pubished an explosive piece detailing her "difficult" behaviour on set of The Canyons.

Lindsay's career has had its ups and downs, to say the least. Here we chart the eight stages of Lohan...

1.The 'isn't Lindsay Lohan adorable and there's two of her' phase

2. The 'Mean Girls is the best film of all time and Lindsay Lohan is going to be huge' phase

3. The 'remaking Herbie seemed like a good idea at the time' phase

4. The 'I was into British boyband members before you Taylor Swift' phase

5. The 'I'm a serious actress and star in films with Meryl Streep that are actually quite good' phase

6. The 'crying in courthouses' phase

7. The 'maybe releasing a single will help me out of this mess' phase

8. The 'if anyone was made to play troubled star Elizabeth Taylor it's Lindsay Lohan...oh, on second thoughts' phase
