Angelina Jolie Is Crowned Hollywood's Highest Paid Actress Despite Not Gracing The Silver Screen For THREE Years

Angelina Jolie has pipped younger actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart to the top spot in this year's Forbes list for Highest Paid Actress. As if she doesn't have enough on her plate, what with six children to tend to and a hubby to die for (we're not jealous, honest), she's managed to nab the top spot without appearing on the cinema screen for three whole years. 'How has she done it?' we hear you ask. Well, Angie has been concentrating on her directing and writing career- and she appears to have done a pretty good job of it. While we wait for Angelina's return to the screen next summer for comeback flick Maleficent, take a look at the list of Forbes' list for the ten highest paid actresses below...

1) Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has topped Forbes’ list of the Highest Paid Hollywood Actresses with £33m. Her last film role was opposite Johnny Depp in 2011, in The Tourist. Despite her on-screen absence, the 38-year-old has featured as the voice of Tigress in Kung Fu Panda 2 and made her debut as director in The Land of Blood and Honey.

2) Jennifer Lawrence

At only 22 years of age Jennifer Lawrence comes in second place with £26m. The Oscar winning actress (she won Best Performance in a Leading Role for Silver Linings Playbook, released in 2012) has climbed up the leaderboard since her role in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games.

3) Kristen Stewart

Last year’s highest paid actress, Kristen Stewart, moves down to third place. It’s been a rocky year for the 23-year-old and not a week goes by without her love life being talked about in the headlines. But that hasn’t stopped her from earning £22m over the past year (that’d sure help our breakups…) Stewart hasn’t starred in anything as iconic as vampire-themed fantasy Twilight, but her role as Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman only served to add to her success. She also appeared as Mary Lou in On the Road.

4) Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston takes fourth place with £20m. In 2012 she appeared in Wanderlust with Paul Rudd and TV series Burning Love. She will star in We’re the Millers, out in August this year and Life of Crime, out in September.

5) Emma Stone

Emma Stone is in fifth place with £16m. A busy year for the 24-year-old actress, she starred as the lead in The Amazing Spider-Man, joined the voice cast of The Croods and co-starred in crime drama Gangster Squad.

6) Charlize Theron

In at £15m, Charlize Theron starred alongside Kristen Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman and in science fiction film Prometheus.

7) Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock continues to be one of the highest paid actresses at £14m. This year, she starred alongside Melissa McCarthy in comedy The Heat.

8) Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman has raked in £14m over the past year, despite only featuring as the voice of Darcy in The Simpsons.

9) Mila Kunis

It's been an exciting year for 29-year-old Mila Kunis, who comes in at ninth place with £11m. She has starred in her most successful film to date, Ted, Oz the Great and Powerful and crime thriller Blood Ties.

10) Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts falls just behild Mila Kunis, also at £10m. The 45-year-old is actress is best known for her role in Notting Hill in 1999 (one of our favourite films ever!) This year she has played the Evil Queen in Mirror Mirror: The Untold Adventures of Snow White.
