Angelina Jolie Acceptance Speech Humanitarian Award Governors Awards

First it was Victoria Beckham who posed with her offspring on the red carpet and just a week later, Angelina Jolie has followed suit by bringing her eldest son to the 2013 Governors Awards - oh, and her hubby-to-be too. Angie hit the Hollywood ceremony on Saturday evening with 12-year-old Maddox as well as Brad Pitt - who both looked very dapper, we might add - because this was a super-special night for the actress.

Yes, Angelina received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award thanks to all her charitable work with United Nations Refugee Agency over the past decade. 'My love, your guidance and support make everything that I do possible,' a tearful Jolie said to Brad before turning to her son to say, 'Mad, I'm not going to cry, I promise. I won't embarrass you. You and your brothers and sisters are my happiness. And there is no greater honour in this world than being your mom.' The 38-year-old also took the opportunity to make an emotional tribute to her mother, Marcheline Bertrand. 'She supported any crazy thing I did, but whenever it had meaning, she made a point of telling me,' 'That is what film is for.''

Watch Angie's acceptance speech below and then check out our pick of her top 5 other speeches..

1. The Oscars, 2000

Who could forget when Angelina won the Best Supporting Actress gong for Girl, Interrupted and, err, kissed her brother. 'I’m so in love with my brother right now,' the actress gushes when she took to the stage. 'He just held me and said he loved me.'

2. The Golden Globe Awards, 1999

A year earlier, a strawberry-blonde-haired Angie won a Golden Globe for her performance in Gia, a TV film about supermodel Gia Carangi who died of AIDS at the age of 26. She gave thanks to her mother for giving up her acting career to become a mother and yep, her bro got a teary mention too. Awww (we think).

3. The Golden Globe Awards, 1998

In this one, we see the star with a sleek pixie crop as she picks up a Best Supporting Actress accolade for her role in George Wallace. As well mentioning her mother and brother Jamie, she also gives a shout out to her dad, Jon Voight.

4. The Golden Globe Awards, 1999

For this one, Angelina actually drags her brother up to the stage so he can 'see the view from up here'. What a lovely sis she is! Looking rather nippy, she accepts the Best Actress award to Angelina Jolie for her role in "Girl Interrupted." Jolie brings her brother on stage and thanks Wynona Ryder, Columbia Picture, the producers, God, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

5. Sarajevo Film Festival, 2011

But it's not all about scooping awards for her acting chops. In 2011, Angelina was honoured as a citizen of Sarajevo at the city's film festival thanks to her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey. You'll need to skip through all the applause before you get to the actual speech which is gorgeously heart-felt and shows just how far La Jolie has come. And there's not one mention of her brother...
