5 Things You Need To Know About David Beckham's Paris Saint-Germain Move

While we're not in the habit of tuning in to football press conferences, here at Grazia HQ we'll make an exception for David Beckham. The footballer and Mr. Victoria Beckham has just confirmed his move to French club Paris St Germain in the final 12 hours of the January transfer window (sure, we know what that means). Not only has his latest career commitment confirmed the family's permanent residence in Europe, Becks has also set a world first with the financial details of his contract. Read on to discover everything YOU need to know about DB's big move...

1. He's donating his ENTIRE salary to charity
David is believed to be the first footballer to offer up his whole salary to charity. That's right, Saint Becks wont be spending any of his £150k a week on hair cuts, fast cars and shiny suits, and instead the philanthropic star is donating a cool £3million to underprivileged kids. All together now: Ahhhh!

2. VB’s staying put
While David will be based in the fashion capital Pareee, Victoria and the kids are staying put, VB to run her fashion empire and the children to attend school in the UK. Book a load of Eurostar tickets quick, as that’s where you’re most likely to find Mr. Beckham over the next five months.

3. Becks can't speak French
He may be worshipped by women all over the world, but he doesn't speak the language of love. Asked about his vocab skills David replied, 'My French? I haven't spoken French for quite a few years, since I was at school, so I'll definitely have to brush up on it.' In fact it transpires that the only word he knows 'Bonjour'. Say it with a smile Becks, say it with a smile.

4. Paris St Germain wasn't his only offer
It won't come as a surprise, but David gets a lot of offers. In fact, the footie hero admitted that he has got more work offers at the age of 37 than he ever has done before. Go DB!

5. It's only for five months
For those disappointed that no sooner had David Beckham touched down on British soil, he's already upped sticks and moved across the Channel, breathe easy. The star's new contract is only due to last five months so fingers crossed he'll be back in Blighty before too long and ready to receive that knighthood!
