5 Things To Do This Weekend... Watch Wadjda, Games of Thrones and Listen to Robin Thicke

1. Watch... Wadjda

Not only is Haifaa Al-Mansour the first director to come from Saudi Arabia, she’s also a woman too. No mean feat when you think that it’s illegal for women to even drive a car. The strict culture and oppression of women is demonstrated in her touching film Wadjda which tells the story of a feisty young girl who dreams of riding a bike. Inspiring and courageous.

2. Visit... an adidas exhibition

Capitalising on the huge trend for sports luxe at the moment, the Hoxton Gallery have put together a fun exhibition combining our love of trainers and nostalgia. adidas Spezial: An incomplete adidas history from a fans perspective features vintage issue kicks, exclusive signed samples from Lily Rose Cooper, Naomi Campbell and Jade Jagger and contributions from fans as well as the likes of Noel Gallagher. A must for any trainer fiend.

19 – 27 July, Hoxton Gallery, 9 Kingsland Road, Free admission

3. Listen to... Robin Thicke

Taking over the song-of-the-summer reins from Daft Punk, Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines stole its way to the top of the charts and is now forever ingrained in our brain. It’s a catching tune and with production from Pharrell, Timbaland and will.i.am, we know we can expect more of the same from his new album, also called Blurred Lines.

4. Go to... a street party

There’s a not-so-secret street party happening this Saturday if you happen to be in East London. The second Hush Puppies Dog Days event will be bringing you a cool, 50’s vibe, tunes spun by DJ Greg Wilson and foodies When Mac Met Cheese will be serving up some delicious treats. Head to [a target="_blank" href="http://www.facebook.com/hushpuppiesuk">www.facebook.com/hushpuppiesuk[/a] for tickets and location info. Ssshhhhhh.

5. Watch... Game of Thrones

If you get regular attacks for FOMO (that’s fear of missing out) and didn’t manage to jump on the [a target="_blank" href="http://www.blinkbox.com/tv/game-of-thrones-(1024)/s03-(2352)?icn=GOTS3HD&ici=DHB_homepage">Game of Thrones[/a] band wagon in time, you might be pleased to learn that all three series are now available to download on [a target="_blank" href="http://www.blinkbox.com/Home">Blinkbox[/a]. That’s right, with months to go before series 3 is even released on DVD, you can get fully up to speed on all things Westeros as if you’d been watching from the very beginning.
