There’s much more to this weekend than V-Day! Here’s a couple of things to do…
1) Watch Her
In his first fully self-scripted feature, Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich) astonishes with the near-future tale of a solitary guy (Joaquin Phoenix) romancing an artificially intelligent presence – his computer’s operating system (beguiling voice of Scarlett Johansson). Wildly thought-provoking cinema, brilliantly performed. Charles Gant
2) Go On A London Food Tour
From Tower Hill to Borough Market, take a trip through the historic foodie landmarks on a walking tour and it’s called….’for better or wurst’ (which we love). Sample white-bait, waffles and more!
3) Go To A Vintage Clothes Fair
The well known Frock Me heads back to the capital for London Fashion Week. Head to Chelsea Town Hall for a vintage clothes fair at the weekend. You can pre-book your tickets and get all the info here.
4) Go To The Richard Hamilton Exhibition
The Tate Modern retrospective features Richard Hamilton’s photography, his collages, sculptures and more. Also – it would be amazing to see his legendary work Just What Is It That Makes Today’s Homes So Different, So Appealing? IRL
5) Rumba into Cuban Fury
Simon Pegg’s regular sidekick in a salsa-themed romcom? Banish your skepticism, and submit to Nick Frost as a former Latin dancer rediscovering his Cuban heels to woo lovely Rashida Jones, seeing off conceited lothario Chris O’Dowd. Formulaic but fun Valentine’s Day viewing, showcasing a hilarious Kayvan Novak. Charles Gant
