It's the weekend...hurrah! Celebrate with one of these top picks of things to do.
1) Visit Holborn Dining Room
One of the year’s best openings is this 160-seat restaurant is in the vast East Banking Hall of the Grade II-listed Rosewood hotel. Sort of a bistro-meets-high end deli, it specialises in extreme comfort food – think mutton broth and jam sponge. TDF, seriously. Holborn Dining Room.
2) Celebrate International Women's Day
Saturday is International Women’s Day. To mark this Very important Day, London’s Southbank is hosting a series of talks and performances under the WOW umbrella. Day passes are sold out but staggeringly, Grayson Perry’s talk on men’s rights and the inimitable Ronnie Spector in concert aren’t.
3) Download the Chime for Change app
To further celebrate IWD, Gucci's women's empowerment campaign, Chime For Change, has launched an app which allows you to send awareness-raising messages. Rather excitingly, it also features THE ACTUAL voice of co-founder, Beyonce Knowles.
4) Go see Grand Budapest Hotel
Wes Anderson’s latest film, Grand Budapest Hotel, might be his best film to date. Bold but seriously, it might. Set in a raucous pre-war central European country and starring Ralph Fiennes as Monsieur Gustave, ‘Claridges’ this ain’t.
5) Watch Kenzie May’s Video for Skeleton Key
Mourning the bittersweet pop of Lauryn Hill's Miseducationon a daily basis? Us too. American-born Kenzie May’s new single for Skeleton Key, an ode to post-teen sexual encounters, is out on Monday but you can watch the video here. Big hooks, buttery RnB and very, very spring-y.
