It's Fridaaaay! And we're here with some suggestions for how to have a culture-tastic weekend...
1) See Blue Is The Warmest Colour
This beautiful film charts the love affair between Emma (Lea Seydoux) and Adele (Adele Exarchopoulous) with a deeply felt sense of passion and drama. The three hour epic has caused controversy for its graphic sex scenes, but the pure artistry of the film is what resonates after you leave the cinema (and need to have a big plate of Spag bol).
2) Go To Iggyfest
Following Princefest and Blondiefest, the ICA celebrates the punk rock pioneer with a series of events including special screenings of Iggy-themed films (included Cry Baby, Coffee And Cigarettes), special talks and a performance of Blah Blah Blah by the original musicians. Full details here.
3) Watch The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
See the return and Katniss and co in the hotly anticipated sequel to the Young Adult adaptation. Jennifer Lawrence once again shines in the lead role with Donald Sutherland and Stanley Tucci also star.
4) Pick Up The Blood Orange Album
Post collabs (and fall outs) with Solange and Sky Ferreira, the multi-monikered Dev Hynes is back with his best album to date- a stylish and funky collection of tunes (and a Mansun cover!).
5) Celebrate The X Factor’s 10th Birthday
Can you believe that it’s been 10 years since Simon and co rolled on the screen and changed the face of pop? Nope, us neither. Well this weekend you can celebrate a decade of the show and also check up the finalists song choices here.
