Don’t let the bleak weather get you down, there’s plenty to do this weekend. Here’s just a couple of choices…
1) Go And See Dallas Buyers Club
Matthew McConaughey’s amazing career reinvention continues with this superb biographical drama about a prejudiced Texan redneck whose world is turned upside down when he is diagnosed with Aids in 1985, teaming with a transgender woman (Jared Leto) to supply alternative meds to fellow sufferers – Charles Gant.
2) Visit The Heals Craft Market
High street design legends Heals have always been forward thinking, so who better to launch a craft market dedicated to the new innovators of ‘everyday objects’. It’s on for two weeks and is bound to be a feast of the eye.
3) Watch Isabella Rossellini’s One Woman Show
This one off performance of the Blue Velvet star’s adaptation of her Green Porno book is set to be a visual and theatrical treat. Putting the capital ‘K’ into kooky, this stage show humorously explores the sex life of…insects.
4) Go To Man Down
This occasional club night is the ‘go to’ evening for the discerning R&B fan. Featuring brilliant retro tunes, lesser known hits and (yay!) lots of Beyonce.
5) See The Best Of Al Pacino
The BFI is hosting an Al Pacino season featuring the actor’s most iconic films. Say hello to you little friends like The Godfather, The Panic In Needle Park, Dog Day Afternoon, Sea Of Love and Scarface.
