Can you really get under a person’s skin with just a few well-chosen questions? We find out with Rebecca Ferguson, 27. She talks to Grazia about having OCD, SpongeBob SquarePants and being a mother.

1. Who are you closest to?

Rebecca Ferguson: My kids, Lillie May and Karl. I absolutely adore them. They’re amazing, we have a laugh together. SpongeBob SquarePants is their new favourite thing at the minute. I’m also close to my brother Sam, we’ve always been very close.

2. What’s your biggest fear?

Rebecca Ferguson: An unlived life. I want to live life and have the most fun I can. I also want to find true love and get married one day.

3. What is relaxation to you?

Rebecca Ferguson: If I have time off I love a spa day. I normally sneak off to the Dorchester on my own. You don’t speak to anyone in there so you feel completely zen afterwards.

4. What are you best at?

Rebecca Ferguson: Writing music. I used to write poetry but I don’t do it as much now. I love the Hip-Hop poet J.Ivy, he’s amazing.

5. What do you value in a partner?

Rebecca Ferguson: Kindness and honesty.

6. Tell us something that will shock is?

Rebecca Ferguson: I’ve got OCD. If I touch anything dirty I have to wash my hands straight away. It freaks me out! It’s such a weird thing and I have the most wrinkled hands because of it.

7. When was the last time you felt happy?

Rebecca Ferguson: The other Saturday I had the best night out. I went to my friend’s house for drinks and then we went out to this indie bar and danced a lot. It was really fun!

8. What’s the one thing you’d change about your life if you could?

Rebecca Ferguson: I’m really happy with life but I would change a few things in my house that need fixing. I’ve just moved in so it needs a few things doing.

9. What’s the one item you can’t live without?

Rebecca Ferguson: I couldn’t be without mascara, I’m so paranoid about my eyes.

10. What’s the most expensive item in your wardrobe?

Rebecca Ferguson: A Pucci dress, it was about £6000. I’ve worn it once! You could only wear it on stage, its one where you have to jump off a wardrobe to get into it. I’ve also got a vintage Nina Ricci coat. I love vintage clothes. I go to a lot of second hand shops, if you’re willing to root you’ll be surprised what you can find.

Rebecca’s new single All That I’ve Got is out on 2 March
