In a bit of a work slump right now? Welcome to #PlayTime, Grazia Daily's new music feature bringing you a different hot track every day of the week. From just-dropped music premieres to cool covers and throwback classics, its the new soundtrack to your afternoon.
It's rare that the Grazia team use the term 'funky', but that's the first word that comes to mind when describing the cool new offering from husband and wife duo Tennis. Out on May 5, 'Cured Of Youth' is cop-show theme tune meets sunny stroll in the park and we totally love it.
Both chilled and danceable, it the kind of track that'd seemlessly join the 'arriving, sitting and chatting' section of a house party playlist with the 'let's push the sofas back and make a dancefloor' end. Not that we like organised fun or anything...
Plus the video, which we're premiering today, has a fun '80s vibe with old-school special effects, bold layered images and a techy-looking font. Singer Alaina's super sweet vocals play the soundtrack to teleporting, lightening and some *totally realistic* green-screen work. She says the video was inspired by the title sequence of late '80s TV show Quantum Leap.
'In only three minutes it conveys every plot point of the entire series along with some pretty eye-popping special effects,' she says of the sequence. 'Let's just say this music video, directed by the bold and beautiful Scott Laidlaw, is the senseless continuation of that story.'
Like what you hear? Tennis are off on tour in May with dates in Liverpool, Leeds, Glasgow, London, Manchester and Brighton.
