#PlayTime: Spice Girls - 'Wannabe' And 5 Other Classic Tracks Turning 18 This Year

In a bit of a work slump right now? Welcome to #PlayTime, Grazia Daily's new music feature bringing you a different hot track every day of the week. From just-dropped music premieres to cool covers and throwback classics, its the new soundtrack to your afternoon.

Happy birthday to 'Wannabe'! The classic track's turning 18 this week. That's right, if the Spice Girls' mega hit was an actual living person it would have finished 6th form, headed off on a lasses' holiday to Malia and be having arguments with its mum about where to buy its uni bedding from right now. Dunhelm Mill just won't cut it.

'Wannabe' was Spice Girls' breakthrough hit, topping the charts in 31 countries across the world. Mel B says it was written in a 30 minute 'sudden creative frenzy' and while Virgin Records and Simon Fuller were totally against it being the first single - the band fought for it.

'It's not negotiable as far as we're concerned. 'Wannabe' is our first single,' said Geri Halliwell.

Aside from making us feel ancient and start listening to the former fave track on repeat - the special anniversary made us wonder what other tracks are turning 18 this year. Here's five other classic tracks that are celebrating the landmark birthday in 2014...

1. Oasis - 'Don't Look Back in Anger'

2. No Doubt - 'Don't Speak'

3. Peter Andre - Mysterious Girl

4. Blackstreet - 'No Diggity'

5. And err.. 'You've Got a Friend in Me' from the Toy Story soundtrack
