Despite facing criticism from music peers and fans on Twitter over the past few months, it seems Lily Allen's finally come out on top.
The singer's shot straight to the Official Album Chart's Number 1 spot with comeback album 'Sheezus'. It's Lily's first record in five years and was available for 99p via Google Play as part of a one-day promotion.
'Yay !!!!!! number 1 album, thank you lots and lots everyone,' she tweeted on Sunday night.
Lily's latest effort might be a big success, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been 'disappointed' with the reality of working in the music industry. The outspoken singer recently talked to Q Magazine about .. well.. what an a******e everyone is.
'I feel like the general public should know what an a******e everybody is,' she told Q’s Dorian Lynskey. 'Everyone is so scared about protecting this idea of a fabulous showbiz glamour and the reality is we’re all just sucking off some rich dude who owns a vodka brand. That’s what we see as an achievement.'
'Maybe people want to believe in it. I believed in it when I was a kid and then I got here and I was disappointed. I want to tell everyone they’re lying.'
Sob! Way to ruin our dreams Lily!
We're going to cheer ourselves up while simultaneously celebrating the singer's success by looking back at one of Lily's best throwback moments - when she performed a throwback cover of The Kooks - 'Naive' in the Radio 1 Live Lounge.
