#PlayTime: Jess Glynne Picks The Soundtrack To Her Life After The Release Of 'Right Here'

16 July 2014 by

In a bit of a work slump right now? Welcome to #PlayTime, Grazia Daily's new music feature bringing you a different hot track every day of the week. From just-dropped music premieres to cool covers and throwback classics, its the new soundtrack to your afternoon.

Grazia Daily headed to Somerset House earlier this week to see Jess Glynne support Kelis as part of the venue's Summer Series gigs. Jess's pretty busy at the moment. Her new single ‘Right Here’ came out last week and you'll recognise her killer vocals from Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be' and Route 94's 'My Love'.

With tickets now available for Jess's UK tour (which kicks off in Sheffield in October), we asked her to pick the soundtrack to her life..

1. Song you always dance to...

Whitney Houston - ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ because of the amazing groove.

2. Song you get ready to...

Armand Van Helden – ‘I Want Your Soul’. It reminds me of the '80s and is so upbeat it always gets me in the mood to go out and have a great night.

3. Song that you work out to...

Destiny's Child – ‘Survivor’. It’s the ultimate motivation song!

4. Festival anthem...

‘Sex On Fire’ by Kings of Leon. It's such an anthemic song that everyone always sings along to at the top of their lungs.

5. First song you fell in love with...

I think ‘Hero’ by Mariah Carey or ‘Say A Little Prayer’ by Aretha Franklin because I loved singing my heart out to both of them and had them on repeat!

6. Song that always makes you happy...

‘I'll Take You There’ by The Staple Singers is my favourite song and the jam and feel of it makes me smile.

7. Song you fall asleep to...

Anthony Hamilton – ‘Do You Feel Me’ is the best bedtime song because of Anthony's sensational voice
