Ahh.. Thursdays. The end of the week is looming and we're all a little bit sleepy and stressed, right? Well, we have *just* the thing to soothe your weary head: the new video from Hanne Kolstø.
‘The Clinch’ is pretty much the audio equivalent of the perfect afternoon nap. Listen to it on repeat for half an hour and you'll feel like you spent a week chilling out in an enchanted Scandi forest. That's probs because Norwegian singer Hanne took inspiration from the silence of solo hikes in her home country for third album 'Stillness And Panic' which FYI was recorded on instruments in her childhood home... and a chapel.
Nominated for a Norwegian Grammy in 2012, Hanne's known from her 'ugly beautiful' sound. It's a combination of day-to-day noises, electronica and - oh yeah - her dad's brass band.
The video of ‘The Clinch’ is pretty awesome too. The spooky clip features a group of people painting a circular screen as it's fed through a lightbox in a mysterious location. It feels kinda fantasy fiction meets Chinese shadow puppet show. Definitely worth checking out.
