#PlayTime: Watch The New Video From Fresh Meat's Charlotte Ritchie And Brother Luke

09 May 2014 by

In a bit of a work slump right now? Welcome to #PlayTime, Grazia Daily's new music feature bringing you a different hot track every day of the week. From just-dropped music premieres to cool covers and throwback classics, its the new soundtrack to your afternoon.

You'll probably recognise Charlotte Ritchie as Oregon from TV fave Fresh Meat, but turns out the actress has another string to her bow. Charlotte's unveiled a new EP with brother Luke and we've got the premiere of the duo's new video 'Light Of Another'.

Making pretty, melodic, folky pop with pristine harmonies, it's clear Charlotte and Luke are a perfect team. Charlotte says: 'We're good at being honest with each other but our family encourage piss-taking too, so it's easy.'

The actress turned singer could never choose between acting and singing: 'It's like coffee or tea. It just depends on time of day and where you are'. Despite saying her vintage style's very different to her Fresh Meat alter-ego Oregon's, Charlotte reckon's 's the try-hard character would be a fan of her band.

'Yeah. I think we're not mainstream (aka well known) so she'd like it because it's new/emerging at the very least,' she says. We asked Charlotte to pick a playlist to soundtrack our Friday, from her guilty pleasure fave to the track that makes her cry. Enjoy!

Guilty pleasure song? Justin Bieber - 'Baby'

'It helped me and my friend Daniella through our essays at university for some reason. It's so annoying but so brilliant.'

First song you fell in love with? Fleetwood Mac - 'Everywhere'

'Our dad used to play their greatest hits it in the car when we were young. (Still does).'

Song that always gets you dancing? Michael Jackson - 'The Way You Make Me Feel'

'It's not a fully-fledged dance but I cannot not shuffle around when I hear it. Like the big hen in Chicken Run who doesn't realise her feet are tapping.'

Song that always makes you cry? There's two..

'They are both sad in completely different ways!'

Bon Iver - 'Holocene'

The Enigma Variations by Elgar - 'Nimrod'

'I know this is the one that makes Luke cry for sure!'
