Today we've got the new video from 90s grunge legend Courtney Love. Showing the singer smashing up a hotel room, 'You Know My Name' is heaps of fun and pretty punk.
The Hole frontwoman wears a series of high fashion looks in the clip along with a whole lot of dramatic makeup. She teams a heavily powder face with bold lipstick and silver eyeshadow as she rolls around on a bed, chucks a vase of roses on the floor and blows glitter around the room. It's Marie Antoinette meets Miss Havisham meets disco meets punk.
Courtney describes her character in the video as 'an old Victorian doll crossed with a Dickensian character called Miss Havisham, who got abandoned on her wedding day at the altar and lived to be a hundred'.
It's directed by film maker Maximilla Lukacs who's previously worked on Karen Elson's music videos and fashion films for brand Orla Kiely.
''You Know My Name' is a very hard hitting punk song and Courtney and I wanted to make a video that would counter that full force with very soft and feminine visuals,' says Maximilla. 'We chose an extremely feminine color palette but all the action is anarchic and wild! It has the feeling of being on a female pirate ship. Full of explosions of glitter and lace! It is fearless, raw and beautiful just like Courtney.'
