The Eton boys did it. Katy Perry did it. Boris Johnson did it with David Cameron. Hell, even Mitt Romney has been seen doing it (sort of). And the latest person to join you and your friends in a Pinot-induced Gangnam Style frenzy? None other than our very own Zara Phillips!
Yep, (minus the Pinot) Zara stars in her very own Royal Gangnam Style video, due to be released on Monday, along with – excitingly – an actual Pantomime horse, who breaks some shapes with Zara and her Olympic team mates.
And the huge Korean hit by PSY (who was mobbed by fans as he arrived in the UK this morning from Paris for a three day flying visit!) quickly went viral. The rap by Park Jae-sang - his real name, natch - has now been viewed on Youtube more than 655 million times, and is perfect for equestrian Olympic Silver medallist Zara – since its signature dance moves imitate riding a horse, holding on to the reins and even spinning an imaginary lasso. YESWAY!
Ironically, the video was made by South Korean popstar to mock the extravagance of the lives his neighbours lived, and the catchy one-liner we've all be repeating (because it's the only lyric we know) 'Oppa Gangnam Style' means 'I live Gangnam Style'.
It's been so popular that even Nelly Furtardo, Britney Spears and Tom Cruise have been known to whip out a Gangnam Style move or two since it went viral three months ago.
Of course, this time, it’s all for charidee. Zara and her teammates are getting Gangnam’d up for the worthy cause of Children In Need, and appear in full equestrian get up as they dance to the song being blasted out behind them on an eighties-style boombox. (Yes, BOOMBOX. We know.)
From what we've heard, it's going to be a ruddy hoot. But - we'll have to wait until Monday to see it for ourselves. We. Can't. Wait.
