 Girls Aloud

Can you believe it’s been AN ENTIRE DECADE since Girls Aloud formed? That makes us feel old.

But we’re ready to reminisce as Cheryl Cole, Nicole Roberts. Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle are reuniting for their 10th anniversary. To celebrate they are releasing a news single, Something New, a precious few seconds of which were leaked online then swiftly taken down.

The girls are also due to perform on Strictly Come Dancing, in which Kimberley Walsh is currently participating.

An announcement is due to be made on Friday as to what else Girls Aloud have lined up. A tour is expected.

It’s been three years since the girls have been together as a group, before they went on hiatus to embark on various solo projects. Kimberley has taken to the stage as Princess Fiona in Shrek, Nadine and Nicola released solo albums and Nicola currently a judge on Sky Living’s Styled to Rock whilst Nadine has been fairly quiet living out in Los Angeles. Sarah, meanwhile, has dabbled in acting and Cheryl… Well, you know the rest.

In the run-up to the announcement, the girls have released a teaser trailer from their new video. It shows the five girls wearing matching orange dresses, with their backs to the camera, hair in top knots and arms on their hips. They slowly walk toward a monochrome wall, then as they turn around the video cuts out.

We were lucky enough to catch a snippet of Something New before it was taken down off the internet, and can confirm it is pure pop perfection; a banging club hit with all girls singing and Cheryl even rapping at one point. Go Chezza!

She even previously hinted to the song on her Twitter page, coyly tweeting; 'I just wanna dance.'

After such a long break, we’d expect nothing less.
