The Descendants break out star Shailene Woodley is set to have a very busy year if reports are to be believed. Not just content with having worked alongside George Clooney, Shailene is now in the running to play Mary Jane Watson, the red-headed love interest of Peter Parker in the sequel to blockbuster The Amazing Spiderman which would mean getting up close and personal with Andrew Garfield.
Hmm, we’re not sure how his girlfriend Emma Stone is going to feel about that but luckily, as she’s also due to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy, she’ll be on set to make sure any funny business is kept on-screen.
We’re still not entirely sure why they’re remaking Spiderman again after Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst did a pretty good job the last time but frankly, any excuse to see Andrew Garfield in tight lycra is fine by us. And we’re pretty intrigued to see who will fair best in the battle of the redheads once Shailene switches her locks to scarlett…
But she’s not the only starlet to play a superhero’s girlfriend…
