If James Franco IS Making A Movie About Lindsay Lohan, Was He Inspired By That Holiday Cameo? UPDATE

Lindsay Lohan is having a moment. Not so long ago she struggled to get any work, now she’s rumoured to be appearing in Lady Gaga’s upcoming music video.

And now, James Franco has come knocking. According to a casting call he’s put out, the actor is making a movie about "the life of two Hollywood celebrities," calling for "James Franco types" and "Lindsay Lohan types," at the ages of 13, 21, 30, 45 and 60. James listed himself as the director.

We’re guessing this means that he’s probably not appearing in the film, and neither’s Li-Lo. What we hope it does mean is that he’s making a movie based on their lives. We’re not quite sure what the relationship between the two is but they were reportedly in talks last year to make an “explicit photographic book” featuring full frontal nudity. The project never materialised but it might make an interesting scene in the film!

It’s been a while since we’ve had a Franco fix. His last big role was in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, in 2011. Since then all we’ve had to swoon over has been the trailer for Oz: The Great and Powerful which charts the life of the Wizard of Oz before Dorothy arrives on the scene. It stars Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz, and is directed by Sam Raimi, the chap responsible for the Evil Dead films and the Spiderman trilogy. In short: awesome.

We’re guessing a project based on the debauched life of two Hollywood superstars might not be quite as clean cut as a movie about Oz, but anything with Franco’s name on we’re all over. We might even audition for the 30-year-old Lindsay. Anyone got any red hair dye?

UPDATE: Everyone's favourite rom-com, The Holiday, actually featured a pretend film starring Franco and Lilo, brilliantly called Deception. You can catch a glimpse of it in the clip below. So might this cameo have spark the actor-turned-director's fascination with Lindsay after he had a taster of what it would actually be like work with her? One thing's for sure, we'd pay good money to see that film.
