Goodness gracious we’re getting antsy about the new No Doubt album, Push and Shove.
Ever since we found out they were back in the studio we’ve itching to get our hands
on any little bit of info that might give us clues about what the new album’s going to be like.
Well, today we got one step closer; the band released the artwork for Push and Shove,
and we LOVE it! The keen beans out there will know that the band have been releasing a
series of webisodes charting all the steps that have gone into making the record. This latest
instalment is the fifth in the series and sees the band meeting street artist El Mac and being
photographed for the album cover.
As Gwen says in the video, Mac’s work can be seen all round the world but is especially
prevalent in LA. His idea for the artwork is to focus on the band’s faces. He takes a series of
headshots of the guys which he then uses as a base to work from. Gwen opts for a bouffant
blonde hairdo with her signature scarlet lips, which she switches to nude halfway through.
The final product is stunning and we’re taking it as visual proof that this album will certainly
not see the band straying from their punk rock roots. It’s less than two months until the
album finally drops and after seeing this, we’re more excited than ever.
