Whilst Olympic fever is hotting up, some of us are looking ahead to the next summer spectacle, The X Factor.
On Saturday 18 August, the most successful show on British TV returns for it’s ninth series. And to get you in the mood ITV have kindly made this snippet from some of the show’s most successful graduates.
Alexandra Burke, JLS, Leona, Olly, Little Mix and One Direction all describe their affection of the experience.
‘Every time I went out there on a Saturday night I just felt it was the best job ever,’ says Olly.
The video features flashes of clips showing Olly performing with Robbie Williams in 2009, Leona with Take That in 2006, Little Mix winning last year and One Direction being told they were going home.
JLS’s JB looks back at the moment they lost saying; ‘I was so upset, I hate losing.’ It’s fair to say the band have done pretty well for themselves ever since, with a string of Top Ten hits.
A message follows, reading; ‘Whose time is now,’ before dramatically cutting to a shot of the new judging panel; Gary Barlow, Tulisa, Louis Walsh and, Nicole Scherzinger the newest recruit who is replacing Kelly Rowland.
It’s been quite a year already with the series somewhat shrouded in controversy. Kelly Rowland was ditched from the judging panel, to be replaced by Nicole.
And who could forget that home video featuring a young Tulisa?
Well it wouldn’t be The X Factor without a spot of scandal. The countdown starts here, people, and we can’t wait.
