Admit it - we’re not known for being amazing at football (Euro 2012 anyone?).
But we’re predicting that might change… thanks to Team GB’s women’s football team who won their first match last night. Whoooop!
The girls beat New Zealand 1-0 in the opening event of London’s 2012 Olympic games.
Sadly the Millennium stadium in Cardiff wasn’t particularly full (where’s your patriotism, people!) but we’re thinking it’s going to get a LOT fuller as the team carry on winning.
Watch out for Alex Scott who was talent spotted when she was just eight. Raised by her mum on a London council estate, she now plays for Arsenal Ladies.
Another key player is Ellen White, who’s been dubbed the ‘Wayne Rooney’ of the women’s game (minus the hair plugs, obvs).
Their next game is against Cameroon on Wednesday. We're predicting another win...
