Is there an unlikely new acting hook-up on the horizon? It seems Lindsay Lohan is keen to remake the ultimate friendship film, Thelma and Louise. This time, instead of Susan Sarandon and Geena Davies taking the lead, she wants to star in it herself with Hollywood’s woman-of-the-moment, Jennifer Lawrence.
Li-Lo tweeted over the weekend; ‘Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games is genius. I want to do Thelma & Louise w/her but ala Natural Born Killers (style wise) 2 girls-2 guys... Thoughts?’
We love the original Thelma and Louise. Sarandon and Davis are best friends on the run from their dull home-lives (and, soon enough, the police, too). They were the poster girls behind every pipe dream women had about road-tripping across America with headscarves fluttering.
A swoonsome Brad Pitt as cowboy, J.D.; the role that first catapulted him to superstardom, makes for an extra viewing bonus too. Nothing to do with him being topless most of the time, nothing at all.
Li-Lo’s résumé does throw up some questionable choices when it comes to her work over the past few years, including gore-fest Machete and box-office disaster I Know Who Killed Me. She is, however, set to make a triumphant comeback in upcoming TV movie, Liz and Dick, which sees her playing a super-glam Elizabeth Taylor during her turbulent romance and marriage to actor Richard Burton. Pics from the set have seen her looking gorgeous as the ingénue and a recently televised promo looks promising.
Fingers crossed this means the return of Li-Lo! All we need now is Jennifer to sign up. You hear that, Jen?
What do you think about remaking Thelma and Louise? And who should play Brad Pitt’s character? Let us know.
