Watch Diane Kruger in Marie Antoinette film 'Farewell, My Queen' - How does she compare to Kirsten Dunst?

11 July 2012 by

Diane Kruger, AKA, Grazia's HUGE style crush and one half of our favourite Hollywood couple (ahem, Joshua Jackson), is the latest to play controversial French Monarch Marie Antoinette in French film, 'Farewell, My Queen'. And, let's admit it, what's could be cooler than a fashionista dressed up in period costume, speaking french?

The film follows the Queen's relationship with one of her servants who was tasked with reading to her (when she was bored) during the French Revolution. Focussing on behind-the-scenes life at Versailles, the movie charts the life of lady in waiting, Mademoiselle Laborde, as she lives alongside the Queen.

Now, we've already seen the role played by Kirsten Dunst in Sofia Coppola's version but that showed the character of Marie Antoinette as a 15-year-old fashion icon-meets-lost party girl with big bundles of candy floss-style hair. German actress Diane Kruger brings us a more grown-up Queen and we can't wait to see the whole thing. When is the film coming to UK, already?
