Matthew McConaughey is having a moment.

He took the lead in dark drama Killer Joe, released last Friday, playing a sheriff-come-cowboy-come-hitman. And he’s excellent as sleazy stripper, Dallas, in Magic Mike, released next week. He’s even been tipped for a Best Supporting Actor nod for his role in the comedy-drama.

Let’s face it, our favourite Texan has notched up a multitude of diverse film roles. Out with the romantic comedies and in with the serious acting (Magic Mike, aside).

Whilst we’re fully supportive of Matthew’s acting credentials, we’re also fans of his perfectly formed torso which, if you’ll notice, he’s not shy about showing off. Here, we reveal his most memorable bare-chested moments. You’re welcome.

1. Surfer, Dude, 2008

Matthew plays a smooth-talking, beach-loving, happy-go-lucky surfer (dude) looking experiencing an existential crisis. But, mainly, he takes his shirt off a lot.

2. Failure to launch, 2006

Despite boasting a cast including Sarah Jessica Parker and Zooey Deschanel, this film failed to bowl us over. But, as an easy-to-watch rom-com it did the trick. Especially when Matthew McConaughey took his shirt off and was attacked by dolphins.

3. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, 2003

Kate Hudson and MM paired up for this charming rom-com about a journalist (her) and advertising executive (him) who make separate dating-bets against each other. Here, MM strips in his office, much to the delight of female colleagues.

4. Fool’s Gold, 2008

Kate and Matthew paired up again for Fool’s Gold, this time playing a married couple rekindling their romance by searching for hidden treasure. Cue, lots of Matthew McConaughey swimming in the sea.

5. Magic Mike, 2012

Released next week, check out the trailer of Matthew as sleazy cowboy Dallas, who runs the male strip club where the film largely takes place. If you ask us, there isn’t nearly enough topless McConaughey in this trailer but, we can assure you, there is in the film…
