Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars in new political satire Veep on Sky Atlantic
In it, she plays US Vice President (aka Veep) Selina Meyer, a woman who seemingly embodies everything a Vice President should; power, control and intelligence.
Though, her days consist of little more than awaiting calls from the President (that never come) and commanding her entourage of staff; a cocky communications strategist, an adoring assistant and an ambitious head of staff (played excellently by Anna Chlumsky from My Girl)
Written by British comedy heavyweight Armando Iannucci – the creator and writer of similarly sharp comedies The Day Today, Knowing Me Knowing You With Alan Partridge and political satire The Thick of it.
You can catch our exclusive interview with Julia in this week’s Grazia – out today – where she talks, amongst other things, about being granted access to the real VP offices.
