What should Cheryl Cole do next?

27 May 2011

While we are still awaiting for the official word on why US X Factor chiefs have given our Chezza the boot back to Blighty (given the dulcet Welsh tones of the scrumptious Steve Jones, we’re not sure the ‘accent’ argument is going to wash) our thoughts have turned to what the next move might be for our pop princess.

No doubt smarting from the humiliation of being sacked before the show has even aired in the US, we’re sure she’s also contemplating where to go from here and the implications that this decision will have for her career both at home and overseas and on the various sponsorship deals which could be jeopardised by her premature return to UK shores.

The X Factor is famed for its ruthless discarding of judges (Sharon Osbourne, par exemple) and Dannii Minogue has even waded in to Cheryl’s defence tweeting, “Judging roles should come with a life jacket, drop down oxygen and a life raft!”. But even so, with the speculation mounting to a fever pitch as to whether she’d get the gig Stateside, even Cheryl must have been floored by the decision to drop her so soon. Whether it’s down to the lack of chemistry between the judges, her Geordie accent alienating her from the US audience or her relatively unknown status across the pond, the fact remains that Cheryl is now left in a bit of a quandary as to what to do now.

So, being ever helpful as we are, we decided to throw in a few suggestions - some serious, some not so much and we’d love to know which of these you think is most likely and whether you have any better ideas for our girl… Get in touch now!

1 - A return to the UK X Factor reprising her judging role and reclaiming her crown as the people’s princess.

2 - Turns her back on all things X Factor and goes into hibernation (*sulking*) before announcing “a string of new projects in the pipeline” which she is very excited about.

3 - Follows in the footsteps of VB with her own clothing line breaking into the US on the runway rather than on screen.

4 - Rekindles her relationship with Ashley Cole with an is-she/isn’t she pregnancy story.

5 - After her successful sponsorship deal with L’Oreal, Chezza decides to launch her own range of hair extensions and fake tan.

6 - Desperate to return to her roots, Cheryl moves back up north and ends up starring in the second series of Geordie Shore.
