Oh Gisele, you bronze-skinned Brazilian beauty – though we’d die for your pins, you don’t half spout a lot of codswallop sometimes…
It’s not that long ago the model was under fire for her ‘breastfeeding should be made law’ outburst. Now the mother – who’d give Gwynnie a run for her money in the lifestyle guru stakes – is warning of another evil… sunscreen, going as far as to call it ‘poison’.
At the launch of her all-natural skin care line Sejaa – which doesn’t include sunscreen - the supermodel admitted she never wears the stuff. ‘I cannot put this poison on my skin. I do not use anything synthetic.’
Asked how she protects herself from UV rays, Giselle claims she only goes out in the sun before 8am.
Now, call us sceptics, but we’ve seen Gisele’s new Colcci bikini campaign, and those beach shots weren’t taken a) before breakfast, b) under an umbrella or c) in Bognor Regis where the sun’s no stronger then a desk-lamp.
How is she protecting her skin on a day-long shoot in the tropics? Or when she's taking a stroll on the beach with her dogs [above]? And – if she really does spend her entire life in the shade, how does her tan look so natural?
Not surprisingly Gisele’s comments have angered skin cancer specialists, how say she’s irresponsible encouraging girls to follow her example – especially as there are organic sun tan lotions on the market, which protect your skin minus the preservatives.
What do you think: is Gisele’s concern warranted or – when over 10,000 Brit’s are diagnosed with malignant melanoma a year – is she totally irresponsible?
