French Vogue’s pre-schoolers: creepy or cute?

What little girl didn’t prance around in her Mum’s high heels and raid her makeup bag when her back was turned? It’s just a bit of harmless experimentation, isn’t it – like toting around a handbag that only holds a teddy bear and wearing that nail varnish that peels off in one.

But when does ‘dress-up’ become dangerous. We reckon French Vogue’s new latest fashion spread walks a fine line…

Now we realise fashion royalty are getting younger and younger –Willow Smith for example and Romeo Beckhams just been voted number 26 on GQ’s list of best dressed men – however pre-schoolers in vamp lipstick, lazing on leopard print? And it’s their ‘come to bed eyes’ we find really disturbing.

The little girls, Thylane, Lea, and Prune were styled by Melanie Huynh and photographed by Sharif Hamza.

As usual the blogosphere is divided. ‘Vogue Paris seems to be broadening its target audience to include middle-aged pedophiles,’ wrote one commentator.

‘FIERCE–especially YOU in the gold number, holding the bunnies,’ praised another.

Now we want to hear what you think...
