The Grazia office is split down the middle over Givenchy’s new Very Irresistible Intense perfume campaign. Not because we don’t think Liv Tyler looks gorgeous (as ever the Lord of the Rings actress is stunning) but whether the fact she’s "make up free" with "unstyled hair" should be the unique selling point of the ad – does it make you more inclined to buy the scent?
Liv was given styled for the shoot, however; before she went into hair and makeup, photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino snapped some quick pictures – and those were the ones they ended up using.
‘There's something quite raw about it,’ said the bare-faced actress, ‘I feel unafraid of exposing myself and the woman I am today - complicated and interesting and intense. ‘I was a little grumpy because I had jet lag,’ said the actress, ‘I hadn't slept so well. My hair was wet and I had no make-up on.’
So this is Liv on an off day?
Our question to you is, when models look this good bare, is it so revolutionary for them to be shot in the raw? Or does it just highlight the fact – unlike us mere mortals – the beautiful people of the world don’t need make-up, lights and photoshop at all (which we’re slightly bitter about, if we’re perfectly honest).
Slap on or slap off? You tell us…
