Now November is upon us our thoughts have turned to party frocks. The fashion stakes are high at the office Chrimbo party – a rare opportunity to prove how stylish you can look off-duty. However you know it’s inevitable someone will slip up: misinterpret the dress code, don black tie when it’s casual. Or – the ultimate ‘uh oh’ – wear the same dress as another partygoer. Yes, we’ve all been there... Your instinct is to turn and run, hide under the buffet, never remove your coat. But we always find it’s best to laugh it off. However this is easier said then done - as a new survey shows.
One in three women have experienced a ‘double date disaster.’ And a fifth of them ran home to change instead of then partying through their embarrassment. Indeed the majority admit they’d then never wear the ‘tainted’ dress again.
So what was the alternative of dashing home to frock swap? Nearly 20 percent said they wore their coats all night, others took refuge in the toilets and – shockingly – five percent said they’d asked their clone to LEAVE the party! Imagine the cheek of it!
According to the survey women are so incredibly paranoid of doubling-up many carry a spare dress, just in case, and Facebook stalk their rivals to search for outfit hints. Have you ever turned up at a party to find you weren’t the only one with an eye for that specific style? If so how did you react? Take a moment to tell us below…
