With the birth of baby Florence Rose Endellion (congratulations to the Camerons) the Grazia office is feeling a little broody… However it seems we’re in the minority.
Female baby hunger is on the wane, according to a survey out this week. Indeed, of the women questioned on whether their biological clock was ticking, one in four said they don’t even plan on having children.
But it’s the reason why which really raised our eyebrows. Over 30 percent said they’d rather be childless than ‘ruin their figures’. Meanwhile 41 percent feared they would lose the ‘shape and firmness’ of their breasts.
When asked what their biggest fear was about pregnancy the majority (64 percent) said it was weight gain.
Okay, we’re all body conscious and no woman likes piling on the pounds, however isn’t it worth it, when you get a lil’ bundle of joy at the end of it?
It’s worth pointing out that those women polled were aged 18-22. We’d be intrigued to check back in a decade’s time and see how many changed their minds…
