Did you read ‘Eek, it’s the woman repellers!’ in this week’s Grazia? Hilarious, non? (even if we do say so ourselves) However it seems we judged one of the line-up too harshly. When we chastised poor Ed Westwick for his deep v-neck shirt and flaunted furry chest, we didn’t realise he was actually bang on trend – in the body hair department anyway. According to new research out this week, the waxed look is so last season – a Chewbacca chest is in!
When 3000 women were questioned about their male grooming preferences, 85 per cent said they were turned off by the metrosexual look and preferred a ‘real’ man with a little hair on his chest. Only 8 percent of women said they liked their men plucked and waxed.
However we’d like to point out, to any man reading this that it’s all about balance. ‘Natural’ is one thing, but only 7 percent of women surveyed said they’d date a guy who’s half-man half-werewolf.
It’s a bit of a postcode lottery really. Because, whilst women in the Midlands still have a soft spot for metrosexual men – with 15 percent admitted they liked a smooth dude - in Wales: the hairier the better. Over 90 percent of women there prefer a Seventies 'rug' and fuzzy legs.
Each to their own…
What's your preference? Furry or Fur-free?
